Maulana Ghulam Rabani
Maulan Ghulam Rabbani Lodhi was born in 1899 at Barkatullah's home.
He took his primary education from Primary School Sarai Saleh (now high school). He learned Quran Pak (nazra) from his parents. Later he learned translation (tarjuma) of Quran Pak from his kind teacher Qazi Ghulam Hussain (late). He learned "Qira'at" and also did Hifz of seven Paras, Qari Mir Abdullah was his teacher for this. After Primary he passed his Middle from Anglo Wrenkle school (Now Government High School No.1 Haripur) in 1914. After this, he did Matriculation from Govenment High School No.2 Abbotabad in 1916. Passed Inter in 1918 from Islamia College Peshawar. In 1929 Maulana couldnot complete his B.A due to "Tehrik-e-Adam Ta'awun". Students were ready for their exams and roll no. slips had also been issued that "Tehrik-e-Adam Ta'awun" started. At that time Maulana had to move from Peshawar.
Maulana started his career as a journalist in 1921. He took start by writing in "Roznama Wakeel Amritsar". His hard work in his field took him high that he reached "Zameendar" by Zafar Ali Khan and Maulana Muhammad Ali Johar. He started working as editor in "Zameendar". Later he started his own newspaper "Haftroza Paigham-e-Sarhad" which was banned by the British Government after three years of its start.
He served as a lecturer of Urdu, Islamiyat and Arabic at Amritsar College. After partition he moved to MAO College Lahore.
He translated many English books in Urdu which include "Seerat-e-Al-Ghazi-Kamala-Pasha". He also did poetry in Hindko, Arabic, Persian and Urdu. He wrote various books.
Current Government of Khyber PakhtunKhwa awarded him "Bronze Medal" in rocognition of his services to the nation.
List of Maulana's friends is very large. Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan, Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar, Mulana Mufti Mehmood (former Speaker Sarhad Assembly) and Khan Abdul Qayum Khan (former Interior Minister) are few of them.
Maulana died in a car accident while going to Abbotabad on 12th, April, 1974 (Friday)
